Risk Based Inspection

Asset Prioritization
Prioritization is unavoidable when the resources (money, manpower and tools) are limited to perform Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) works. Risk based approach can be used as a tool to develop asset prioritization ranking in which higher risk platforms will have higher priority for undergoing IMR works than lower risk platforms.

Inspection Strategy

Time based Inspection
Time based inspection strategy is based on equal treatment of each asset irrespective of the condition and the importance of the asset. The inspection is performed on regular intervals with the regulations and standards for inspection.

Risk based Inspection
Risk based inspection strategy is based on optimization of inspection interval and scope and focus the available resources on the high risk platforms. High risk platforms and using more detailed inspection surveys while platforms with lower risk will have less frequent and less stringent inspections.
